About the Cottage

Arthog Hall Cottage is a quaint and cosy traditional beamed cottage set within the grounds of the historic Arthog Hall. Benefiting from a beautiful spacious garden with truly stunning view of the Mawddach Estuary & The Cambrian Coast with Barmouth in the background. The cottage has a sunny north west facing garden to soak up the rays and enjoy the stunning sunsets. There are miles of gorgeous walks and scenery to enjoy all around, including the mystical Arthog water falls just to side of the Hall. The stunning Mawddach Estuary is right opposite the cottage and the Cader Idris Mountain area is just a short drive.  This delightful stone cottage has recently been tastefully decorated whilst retaining its character features along with the comforts of modern living.

Set in The Snowdonia National Park, Arthog is ideally situated for whatever type of holiday you want.  For those with families, miles of sweeping sandy beaches can be found all along the coast.   If you're into cycling or horse riding, there are numerous scenic places to ride. This is a walker paradise with the Mawddach Trail opposite, Coed Y Brenin & Cader Idris just a short drive away!  If you're not the active type, there is lots to do in Tywyn & Barmouth with independent shops, pubs and eateries or how about a ride along the coast on the scenic Cambrian Coast Railway?

Come and explore this amazing area.  Mid Wales is truly stunning and a 'well kept secret' by discerning globe trotters.  Come prepared for all conditions, it does rain sometimes!

Arthog Hall Cottage has a basic, but well equipped kitchen/diner with modern appliances.  The cosy lounge with fabulous views, sits 5 and benefits from an electric 'wood burner style' fireplace  making a great focal point and perfect for gathering around on cold winter night.  Upstairs are three bedrooms, two double and one single bed. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and is next to the bedrooms. The cottage has a lovely sunny enclosed garden with patio furniture, for BBQ's  'alfresco living'. There is electric heating throughout the cottage. 

DOWNSTAIRS

Kitchen/dining area:

The fully fitted kitchen/diner with slate effect tiled floor has a lovely view over the garden from the kitchen window.  There is a ceramic hob, built in electric oven/grill, microwave, fridge with freezer box, plus all the necessary cooking utensils.  There is a drop-leaf dining table with fold up chairs for 4. 

Living room:
With a stunning view over the garden and towards the Estuary.  In addition to the beamed ceiling, wooden shutter windows, the electric wood-burner is the central feature in this room, so plenty of warmth on those chilly evenings. There is a newly carpeted floor, 3 seater leather settees, a single seater and a tub chair.  For entertainment, there is a 24" Toshiba flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD/CD and a selection of DVDs and books.  

UPSTAIRS

1st Double bedroom:
This room has a double bed, chest of draws and built in wardrobe. From the two shuttered window you have the same stunning view as the lounge to enjoy.
 
2st Double bedroom:
This room also has a double bed, bedside tables and built in wardrobe and shelf unit. From the wooden shuttered window you have the same stunning view as the lounge to enjoy.
Single bedroom:
This room also has a single bed and velux window. 


 
Bathroom.
The bathroom has part tiled walls & a cushion floor, WC, wash basin, bath with a shower attachment and heated towel rail.

All the bedrooms are newly carpeted, have two pillows and quilts, all bed linen is provided. Bath and hand towels are also provided for each person staying in the cottage. Beach towel are NOT provided so please bring your own.

The cottage is located in a quiet location off a private road. There is parking to the rear and fairly easy access to the cottage with no steps up to it.  

Outside:
The cottage has its own beautiful enclosed garden and terraces. There is a four seater 'bistro set' & a new charcoal BBQ. NB: Guests need to be careful with small children as there are low stone walls to the front with a steep drop behind.  It has a sunny north west facing garden to soak up the rays and enjoy the stunning sunsets, the Mawddach Estuary is right opposite the cottage. 

Where a 1 week minimum applies, our changeover day is Saturday.  Prices are shown are in pounds sterling per week, inclusive of electric, bedding & towels. Please bring your own beach towels. NB( this property does not have wi-fi)

We request a 25% deposit on booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before the arrival date.
We also ask for a damage deposit of £150, which is refundable providing there are no breakages or damage to the property.

We can accept payments by cheque, but prefer a BACS or FASTER (internet) payment in GBP. We also have a PayPal/credit card facility. A £35 booking fee applies to each booking.

It is the guest's responsibility to insure against any losses that may occur should the need to cancel their holiday arise.

Rates shown below are per night or for the whole week. Where a nightly rate is shown, we offer a 4 night midweek break arriving on Monday leaving on Friday and a 3 night weekend break arriving on Friday leaving on Monday.
