‘This Family Retreat’ is a stunning example of a Victorian period residence, presenting a contemporary, boutique-style look over four floors. Full renovation completed in 2024, with a designer kitchen and gorgeous themed rooms.

Come and enjoy this unique location close to Dolgellau town, perfect for a family staycation to create those lifetime memories here in Snowdonia National Park. Take in the breathtaking elevated views towards The Cadair Idris Mountain and over Dolgellau.

Facilities include a cinema room, games room, a bar, a spacious sitting room with wood-burner, a hot tub, a huge sun terrace for ‘al-fresco dining’, and a fire pit. Sleeping up to 20 guests in comfort with 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. There’s private parking for 3/4 cars plus limited on-road parking down the road. One dog is welcome. Miles of stunning walks on the doorstep and just a short walk to the old town, with numerous eateries and independent shops.

ACCOMMODATION:

Off the drive are steps down to the ground floor of the property. Additionally, there is a metal walkway to the top floor with a handrail on the sides. This property is NOT suitable for guests with mobility issues.

The ground floor front door brings you into an elegant hallway with a tiled feature floor and original dark wood doors and stairway, with the kitchen and dining area on one side and the sitting room on the other side.

Downstairs to the basement, you have a functional utility room, a large cinema room, a bar, and games room.

Upstairs to the 1st floor, you have 4 bedrooms (2 en-suite) and a family bathroom. The main bedroom features a freestanding bath overlooking stunning views.

On the second floor, you have 4 further bedrooms (2 en-suite) and a family bathroom.

GROUND FLOOR-

SITTING ROOM:

Apart from the amazing views through the bay window over the terrace towards Cadair Idris, the main focal point of this through room is the wood-burner, set in a slate surround. Perfect to sit around on a chilly evening. Ample seating for all the guests includes 2 X 4-seater velvet settees.

The stunning oak look laminate floor completes this cosy yet contemporary look.
In a separate sitting area, there is a 10-seater leather corner settee with a reclaimed wood coffee table and occasional tables.

DINING ROOM:

The dining area also has a bay window to take in the beautiful views over Dolgellau and the Welsh countryside. A majestic custom-made wood dining table with high-back mocha leather dining chairs takes over the large dining area and allows for 16 people to dine comfortably. The dining room follows through to the kitchen.

An Open plan kitchen/diner. This functional lovely designer kitchen has a real WOW factor! It is fully fitted with coordinating, soft close, matt teal blue units, and ‘block wood look’ worktops.

Enjoy the panoramic views and spectacular sunsets over the Mountains. The extensive decked terrace is finished with glass & chrome balustrades and has been designed to maximise the breath-taking vista over the Snowdonia countryside. There is a fabulous 6-man hot tub, at the end of the sun terrace. Contemporary sofas, tables & sunlounges. Steps down to the garden lead to the feature fire pit. We also have a brick built family-size BBQ for your use.

PARKING:

Accessing the property from the road, there is a small driveway with parking for 3/4 cars. Extra parking is available for SUVs and mini buses down the road at The Marion Car Park. There is an enclosed garden that’s fairly secure.

NEARBY:

Set in The Snowdonia National Park, this home is ideally situated for whatever type of holiday you want. Whether you are looking for an active adventure holiday or a relaxing break away from it all, you will find everything within easy reach.
It’s a 10 min short walk into Dolgellau town centre with a Large CO-OP & Euro Spar. This charming town has plenty of fantastic restaurants and pubs that are sure to satisfy your appetite. The town has a leisure centre, independent shops, and a monthly farmer’s market. Just a 20 min drive to the beaches at Barmouth or Fairbourne. Snowdon/Llanberis, Betws y coed, Beddgelert are about an hour away and the World Heritage site of Harlech castle is about 40 minutes away. If you’re into cycling or horse riding, there are numerous scenic places to ride. This is a walker’s paradise with Cadair Idris just a few minutes away.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The prices quoted are for 16 guests, but we can sleep 4 more by utilising the 4 bed settees in the basement. A £15 supplement per extra guest, per night applies.
We will consider one dog with a £35 surcharge applying.
Where a 1-week minimum applies, the changeover day is FRIDAY.
Short breaks when available at certain time: Monday- Friday 4 nights & Friday-Monday 3 nights. Arrivals from 4.00 pm vacate by 10.00 am. A minimum charge of £995.00 applies to every booking. Prices shown are in pounds sterling per week, inclusive of energy, heating, bedding & towels, and use of the hot tub (see special conditions on the booking form) Please bring your own robes & beach towels.
We request a £49 booking fee & a 25% deposit on booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival. We also ask for a £499 security deposit, which is refundable provided there are no breakages or damage to the property. We accept payment by BACS bank transfer, secure online card payment or by cheque.
This is a ‘family holiday home’ no ‘single-sex groups’ are allowed without enquiring first. We reserve the right to charge an extra housekeeping bond if booked on 3rd party platforms. Strictly NO under 25-year-old groups. If in doubt, contact us initially before trying to book. This property is NOT suitable for guests with mobility issues.

HOT TUB:

Guest have use of the hot tub located on the patio from 9.00 AM until 9.45 PM each evening (no later as it is in a residential area), on the full understanding that they use it in an accordance with the instruction provided at the property and that Lounge Holidays and or the owner do not accept any responsibility for death, personal injury or failure of the equipment in connection with the use of this hot-tub. If you use the hot tub and its equipment incorrectly or do not follow the instruction provided at the property, we will hold you fully responsible for any loss or damage caused to it and any associated equipment provided. It is your responsibility to use the tub safely and look after the associated equipment provided. We draw particular attention to the instruction that all guests shower and remove makeup, deodorants, and suntan lotion before using the hot tub. Guests with fake tan applied are not permitted to use the hot tub. The water is changed & treated regularly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, but if we need to do an unscheduled change of the water as a result of incorrect use, we will charge you £50.
